Michael A. Fine (Chairman Emeritus), CCIM, CAI, AARE is a founding partner of Fine and Company, LLC a results driven real estate auction and advisory firm with appropriate real estate licenses in more than twenty states. He is known for his unparalleled experience in marketing more categories of real estate at auction… in more states and countries than any other individual. Mr. Fine has personally participated in real estate auction programs for a spectacular array of companies including Pritzker Realty, Hartz Mountain Industries, Alcoa, Intrawest, American Skiing Company, and financial institutions including The Northern Trust Company, Wells Fargo, Citicorp, Bank of America-LaSalle, and many others.
He has represented private sellers from first-time home sellers to retired chairmen of Fortune 50 corporations. Through structured accelerated marketing campaigns, Mr. Fine focuses on achieving quality results using innovative structured marketing techniques. His understanding of unusual and unpredictable real estate situations has led to extraordinary results for his clients.
His wide-ranging experience encompasses selling condominiums to first time homebuyers to selling the most expensive and important estates in the country. His experience and expertise in selling industrial, commercial, and development properties is unparalleled. Notable sales include commercial spaces from 2,500 to 800,000 square feet, the largest single piece of land in the U.S., as well as dozens of types of special use properties.
Mr. Fine was a partner and served on the Board of Directors of a national real estate auction firm for nearly a decade. He also served as its Director of Project Management for over twenty years, leading the training, management, and administration of its national project management team. He participated in the tactical and strategic planning of the firm’s innovative auction programs. Professionally licensed in twenty states, he has been personally responsible for the sale of thousands of properties in 30 states, four provinces of Canada, Mexico, Latin America, and throughout the Caribbean.
The Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute awarded Mr. Fine the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation. This designation is earned upon completion of a graduate-level curriculum and attainment of a qualifying level of experience. CCIMs are recognized experts in commercial real estate brokerage, valuation, investment analysis, and form a business network encompassing 1,000 markets throughout the world. Mr. Fine is one of fewer than two dozen auctioneers accredited with this coveted designation.
He has earned the prestigious CAI designation from the National Auctioneers Association, representing three years of coursework relating to the auction industry. He was confirmed by the National Auctioneers Association as an Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate (AARE). Less than two percent of all auctioneers in the United States have earned this prestigious accreditation. He is a member of the National Auctioneers Association, and is presently serving a four-year term as an Education Trustee. He serves as chairman of a number of NAA’s education committees and is a principal writer and editor of all real estate-related auction courses offered by either the NAA or NAR.
He is a certified auctioneer from the Missouri Auction School. He is a member of the National Association of Realtors®, Illinois, Arizona, Texas and New Mexico Associations of Realtors®, the Chicago Association of Realtors®, Arizona and has served as a member of the National Association of Realtors® Auction Committee and serves as a committee member of the Chicago Association of Realtors® Commercial Division.
Mr. Fine has authored numerous articles regarding real estate auctions and is quoted and interviewed frequently where he shares his insight and opinions with many prominent newspapers, magazines, television news and digital media throughout the country. He is has been a guest lecturer at the Keller Graduate School of Management, Reppert’s School of Auctioneering, and the National Auctioneer’s Association, as well as numerous state Auctioneer’s Associations.
He is active in a number of civic and charitable organizations, including the National Eagle Scout Association. Mr. Fine regularly provides his services as a guest auctioneer to a variety of charities and civic organizations. EDUCATION
