Paul Galanis has thirty-three years of experience as a skilled real estate professional with experience in the disposition of commercial and residential real estate, portfolio sales, auctions, financial services, banking, and entrepreneurship. For over 18 years, Mr. Galanis has been involved in the sale at auction of over a billion dollars in real estate. He has structured and executed auction programs for almost every class of real estate including industrial, commercial, retail, hotels, churches, condominium developments, multi-family buildings, luxury estates, mineral right, golf courses, parking garages, development land, timber, bankruptcy, and foreclosure sales.
Prior to joining Fine and Company, Mr. Galanis was Managing Director and leader of CBRE’s Auction Services practice for the Americas. While there he developed the auction services division’s practices, policies and procedures including developing the online auction platform. During his tenure, he was responsible for the national execution and sale of hundreds of millions of dollars of real estate at auction across the United States. For nearly a decade, Mr. Galanis was a partner and Senior Vice President at the national real estate firm of Sheldon Good & Company, which at the time was the preeminent real estate auction firm in the United States. Here he oversaw the execution of the auction process and played an integral role in the auction sale of over a thousand properties, utilizing single and multiple property auction formats. Earlier in his career, Mr. Galanis was in commercial banking, managing national loan portfolios, workout portfolios, and originated millions in new commercial real estate loans. Licensed as a real estate broker and auctioneer, he has managed auctions in 39 states and across the Caribbean and in the South Pacific. He is a graduate of the Reppert School of Auctioneering, and serves on the advisory board of an online auction school providing continuing education. The National Auctioneers Association has confirmed him as an Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate (AARE). Less than two percent of all auctioneers in the United States have earned this prestigious accreditation. He is also a member of the National Auctioneers Association and the National Association of Realtors®, Illinois Association of Realtors®, and the Chicago Association of Realtors®. Mr. Galanis actively provides his services as a guest auctioneer to various charities and civic organizations.
